Jul. 17th, 2007 08:53 pmThey have glitter in 8-ounce jars in the art-supply section of the campus bookstore. I think
that's volume rather than weight, and it only comes in red, blue, and silver, but it's still quite an impressive amount of glitter. What they don't have, rather to my annoyance, is 2008 calendars. The last couple of years, I've been able to lay in the next year's calendars to take home when I go for my summer break, which saves on postage.
We had a power outage at lunchtime, over an area that stretched all the way from work to home. I shut the computers down in case the UPS units didn't hold out, and went to lunch a bit early to get away from the beeping. I think it only lasted about half an hour, but when I got home I had to reset the time on the VCR and the other recording gizmo, the coffee machine and the microwave.
There was a half-rainbow in the sky when I got home tonight, and a single quail bobbing along behind the chain-link fence, both of which made me happy.
I'm watching League of Extraordinary Gentlemen right now. Nice submarine! It's on FX, though, and the animated squibs for other shows and movies in the corner of the screen are rather distracting.
