I'm not dead: I am still tired after last week, and last night's writing session took forever, which didn't help with catching up on my sleep or let me post anything cogent.
I'm sad to hear about the demise of Meisha Merlin, but I suppose not entirely shocked. They gave me access to some authors I treasure -- P.C. Hodgell, Sharon Lee and Steve Miller and most recently (for one book only) Janny Wurts -- but they were often very bad at estimating when their books would be ready, to say the least, and the books themselves were sometimes imperfect, though the hardcovers did have a nice heft to them.
