I have done my taxes, all but double-checking the numbers and assembling the envelopes. The AZ PDF form now does the sums for you, which is helpful. (It would be nice if the IRS could make the dratted Alternative Minimum Tax worksheet fillable, too. I have never paid AMT, but I always religiously fill out the worksheet.)
A maintenance guy came and looked at my bedroom ceiling. (As I noted in a comment to an earlier entry, after Thursday night's rain I found water running down the wall.) His proposed solution is to caulk the fairly impressive crack between wall and ceiling, which has been there for years and never leaked before. I do hope they plan to check the roof as well. He seems to think they can manage to bodily move and replace my loaded bookcases; I am a little nervous about this, as these are the fairly old and not very sturdy self-assembly jobs and I think one of them has a loose top. I certainly intend to get all breakables well out of the way!
Also I picked up groceries, including a small pan to replace the one I burned last Friday. Unfortunately, as I haven't run the dishwasher yet, I still don't have a clean small pan to cook dinner. I suppose I could nuke the veggies.
