Preparations
Oct. 31st, 2006 08:10 pmBills paid; rent paid; lease renewed; heating requested though not yet forthcoming. Ride to the airport booked. Last-minute groceries picked up. Bus pass purchased. Suitcase packed (mostly), with layers of knits and fleece. Laptop bag still to be packed. Plaid shirt still missing.
Yes, I'm off again -- to Colorado, which is practically local but at least (as we say in the North of England) a top-coat colder than Tucson. After the fiasco that nearly scuppered the China trip at the beginning (4.15am pickup where the van couldn't find me waiting patiently outside and I didn't get their phone call, resulting in finally getting on the van at 5am), I've given the shuttle company my cell number.
Tomorrow, as it happens, is the ninth anniversary of my move to Tucson -- though it ended up being a two-day trip, and I didn't get here until the 2nd.
