So saving time in the morning by putting my coffee in a cheap plastic travel mug and taking it on the bus? Not such a great idea; it leaked a bit, and the coffee was lukewarm and plastic-tasting by the time I got to work. It did get me out a little earlier this one time, but as an experiment I have to consider it a failure. At least the coffee maker, post-dishwasher-run, didn't leak all over the counter.

Last month, I read C. J. Cherryh's latest, Pretender. Then, as tends to happen with that series, I went back and reread the whole thing (two and two-thirds trilogies) from the beginning, in quick succession, much to the detriment of my sleeping patterns. After that I embarked on a reread of the Alliance/Union books, and after that, if I get ambitious, I may tackle Cyteen again, but that's for a different post.

Speaking of detriment to sleep patterns ...

The trouble with sitting down and doing things on the study computer when I get home from work is that, come bedtime, I am not remotely sleepy.
