The purple variety of orchid tree doesn't seem to take to our climate quite as enthusiastically as the white, alas, but the flowers are very pretty.

The mountains seemed oddly close today, snow-kissed and dappled with cloud-shadows. What strange lives we lead here, in the quotidian sprawl of the city, with mountains closing in every horizon that isn't blocked out by buildings.
