We've had another lovely sunny day, and I had a good walk at lunchtime. I found irises, petunias, orange pansies, marigolds, and these lovely dainty things that seem to be of the daffodil or narcissus persuasion. On days like this, it's hard to believe it isn't spring already.

That's mostly the nearer end of imminent-reading shelf on the side table. If I did it at the desk in the study, I'd need a tape measure, but it would basically be SF and fantasy by W authors.

One of the summer students left a little razor scooter in our office. It's been there since I came back in September, but tonight, as we were packing up to leave, I was feeling frivolous, and I took the thing out for a quick spin down the long, empty, smooth-floored hallway.

It was rather like one of those dreams where you skim over the ground, only touching it once every few yards, but with more worries about balance. It wouldn't have been hard to get up more speed than I felt safe with.
