The never-ending hibiscus The never-ending hibiscus

Against a south-facing wall, these bushes flower nearly year-round. The winter flowers are smaller, but the gentler sun is kind to their colours and textures.

My last package came in, so I have ink, should I feel the urge to print something over the weekend, and all six of the major Jane Austen novels in convenient paperback form. I've obtained new posters for the bedroom wall, and so far they haven't fallen down. (That will probably happen in the middle of the night.)

There's enough food in the house that I don't have to brave the grocery store until after the weekend; I have movies, and a plan and materials for a new afghan. I may be a little low on quarters for laundry, but that's probably survivable.

I keep starting and deleting posts about my idiosyncratic attitude to the upcoming holiday, but nobody really needs to know why I do and don't do various things at this time of year. I'll have a nice quiet Sunday at home, not very different from my usual in-town Sundays except that there are a few presents to open, and I'm content with that.

Mission Statement
