I like pansies, and the people in charge of the campus landscaping have put out some very nice ones recently. I'm almost toying with the idea of making an entire mood-icon set in pansies. This one would do nicely for 'cheerful' and cognates, I think.

On vacation

I'm on vacation for the next two weeks. Two weeks to catch up on housework and decluttering, to do my Christmas shopping, to clean off the old desktop, to read and crochet and play with my photos and watch DVDs and write long e-mails to friends.

It would be nice if there was some heat in the apartment, but I only requested it yesterday, so it may be a chilly weekend -- chilly by Tucson standards, anyway. It was 65 in here when I got home, and it isn't likely to warm up much overnight. I think I'll save the dishwasher's burst of warmth for the morning.

I wore my new winter jacket today, and discovered that it has seven pockets: two on the usually-inside (it's reversible), two front and two hidden side pockets on the usually-outside, and a small velcro'd one on the left sleeve. It also has mysterious loops on the right shoulder and left hip, possibly to attach some imaginary weapon. The other odd thing is that all the tags came in individual transparent plastic wrappers.
