Tabula Rasa

I have my Real Laptop back. I haven't yet fired it up, but I anticipate a long evening of reloading and downloading and fidgeting with settings until it feels like my computer again.

Computer update

The machine emerges blinking from a Spring 2004 timewarp, more or less, complete with XP Service Pack 1. So far, I've downloaded 29 updates, 20-odd MB of Norton updates, and SP2, (which is still installing), installed Firefox, and done a few customizing tweaks. (I like the Classic Start Menu and window appearance, thank you, and to be able to see my extensions and hidden files and the location bar in the folder windows.)

I could do with a computer icon, I suppose ...
