Am wandering around the house, trying to tidy up and muster the last bits and pieces of packing. I've cleared out the Caller ID and answering machine, changed my voicemail greeting at work, paid the rent, finished off last summer's last film in the old camera, uninstalled the stupid broken AOL software from the desktop and rebooted it until it behaves. Digital camera batteries charging. Bill payments (with two months extra in advance) written and enveloped, ready for mailing at the airport tomorrow.

I've had just about enough of this month. Can we please have some good news for a change? (OK, the IRA thing counts, I suppose. But a tornado in my old shopping haunts is not so good.) Vacation is a good thing, though. Hopefully I'm hoping there will be heather.
