Crepe Myrtle, innit? I love those. The place I worked at in Virginia has a Crepe Myrtle Festival every year, and there are beautiful specimens of it all over the place.
Though I regard it as an inferior variant, "Crape Myrtle" might get even more hits. Both are correct by the dictionary. "Crepe" is the earlier version. My boss says she made the choice between creepy myrtle and crappy myrtle. Most other garden centers seem to prefer the crap version. (Reminds me of the choice offered in pronunciations of Uranus.)
