It rained this afternoon. Yesterday's storm passed us by a couple of hours before it made the national news in Phoenix, blessedly dropping the temperature ten or twenty degrees but not doing much else. Today the clouds built up again, and by about 4.30 we had rain -- real, pavement-wetting, gutter-flooding rain, with a bit of pea-sized hail mixed in, accompanied by quite convincing thunder. There's a bit of thunder and lightning going on outside right now, in fact, but not quite enough to scare me off the computer. We definitely seem to be getting an advance payment on the monsoon, which isn't due for nearly another month.
