This sweetie is a young member of the herd of highland cattle at the rare breeds centre in Graves Park, a couple of miles from home in Sheffield. The little noises from the camera must have intrigued her; she came moseying over to the fence, looking right at me.

Don't the Hieland Coo calves look like a cross between a cow and a grizzly bear? [grin]

(In case you/re wondering - I was first introduced to the breed by a guy with a distinct highland brogue so highland cows became hieland coos and I'll always think of them in that way...)

They grow up large and impressively horned, but the babies are adorable.
