It's been a quiet day. I've transferred the Monterey photos to the stay-at-home computer, backed them up to both external hard drives, and tagged them. I keep straining to hear the sound of waves, and I have an absurd urge to try to paint seascapes, but I know I have no talent at all for that kind of thing. I picked up some groceries, and wished I had the camera with me; an agave down by the grocery store has put up a four-foot spike with a rather interesting structure of narrow pinkish bracts wrapped over knobbly green buds, and there are tiny, tightly whorled buds on the beavertail cactus that weren't there last week.
Tomorrow, laundry and picking up. This evening, I'm settling in to watch the Olympics.
