The rain seems to have slacked off, and the mountains are starting to loom out of the clouds. Around lunchtime, though, it was hailing, spitting chunks of white ice at the windows. The men building the new ramada outside went away for a while at that point, but they're back now, and seem to have all four of the main posts upright. I'm glad to see that the thing is being replaced; I'd been thinking of taking the laptop out there some pleasant afternoon to see if I could pick up my Wi-Fi signal, but the old structure disappeared just about the time the weather cooled down. On the other side of the apartment, the demolition of the ex-hospital is proceeding apace; the outer walls of one wing are pretty much gone, so that I can see right through it to sky and trees. The view from my door will be quite different once it's completely down.

The maintenance guy, who got me out of bed on Saturday morning and then went away without doing anything, came back this afternoon. I now have taps in both kitchen and bathroom that not only don't leak when turned off, but also don't spurt and dribble all over when turned on, which is an improvement.

I made modest progress with Myst:Revelation this morning. So far so good, even though the laptop's video card isn't up to the approved specs. Haven't actually solved anything yet, though.

Yesterday, I found a CD in my rack that I don't remember buying. It has a price sticker from the local used book/media store, but I have absolutely no memory of it. It's Beethoven's Septet Op. 20 and Clarinet Trio Op. 11, which I probably grabbed because I like clarinet music, but when? 'Tis a mystery. It's not bad, either -- I played it yesterday, and again this afternoon -- but not spectacularly memorable.
