Someone decided to decorate a couple of the specimens in the cactus garden on campus.



It made for an interesting photo opportunity this lunchtime; I think I've found my holiday icon.

gorgeous pictures! I love the idea of a decorated cactus, though you woulnd't want one in your home. (See papersky's recent adventures)

You certainly wouldn't want one of these falling on you! Decorated cacti are quite common in the gardens around here, but usually with lights rather than baubles -- or 'ornaments' as they call them over here. Another festive local habit is to wind a strand of fairy lights in a helix up the trunk of a palm tree.
